Why Do I Need The Tag?
The ID numbers on the tag are needed when ordering replacement parts for your furniture. These numbers allow the manufacturer to determine the exact model and style of your chair so they can send you the correct part(s).
I Have My Receipt, Will That Work?
No. The needed production numbers can only be found on the furniture ID tag. Manufacturers (and dealers) often refer to these numbers by different names, such as: serial, style, sequence, ID, model, ACK, etc.
Tip: Have the tag or numbers handy when ordering parts.
Typical Tag Locations
The 3 most common locations on reclining chairs:
- Hang Tag - hangs below & behind footrest when open
- Underside (backside) of footrest
- Elsewhere along underside of seat or arm frames
The video below demonstrates where ID tags are located on name brand reclining furniture.
There Are No ID Tags On My Chair - What Can I Do?
If your recliner has some stickers or tags with a generic production number or country of origin tags, "Made in...", chances are you have an import with no parts warranty. In this case, you're only options for getting parts are through the retailer where you purchased your recliner or online. See "Getting Replacement Parts" for more info.
If you know the name brand of your chair, but can't find any tags, theres still hope. Some manufacturers will allow you to email photos to help properly identify your chair. Be sure to follow their instructions regarding which perspectives they need.
